Extremely flexible extra light coupling from Swedish XBB. XBB Cupra Formentor from 2021- has a short installation time of only 15 minutes.
- Super easy installation where the communication between relay and signal for the high beam is done wirelessly via Bluetooth
- The XBB Cupra Formentor auxiliary light coupler has a short installation time - 15 minutes!
Extra light connection XBB Cupra Formentor
Installation is super easy and communication between the OBD reader and the auxiliary light relay is completely wireless via Bluetooth, which means everything can be ready in as little as 15 minutes! No more time-consuming searching for Canbus cables or any wiring inside the car, no cable to be pulled through the torpedo wall out into the engine compartment and the like.
The kit, which is complete (except for the auxiliary light/LED-ramp), consists of the following:
- OBD-II transmitter (Dongle)
- Receiver relay (Powerunit)
- Wiring for 1, 3 or 4 DT outputs depending on how many ramps/extra lights you want to connect.
Installation of XBB kit (complete quick guide here):
Before installation: Download the free app XBB Configurator for your Android phoneor XBB Configurator for your iPhone and ensure that your vehicle is compatible with the kit.
- Install the transmitter unit (XBB Dongle) in the vehicle's diagnostic socket, the OBDII socket. This socket is usually located under the steering wheel
- Install the relay cable (included in the complete kits) at the vehicle battery or fuse box in the engine compartment. The XBB Power Unit is then plugged into the relay holder on the harness
- Pull out and connect the DT connector(s) to the LED ramp/extra lights
- Launch the XBB Configurator app which will guide you step-by-step to pair the units and finalize the settings.
- Done!
Outputs on Receiver Relay (Power Unit):
The receiver relay communicates wirelessly with the transmitter (Dongle) via bluetooth/bluetooth and has two independent outputs. These outputs can handle up to 15A and up to 5A respectively.
For example, you can use the outputs on the Power Unit like this:
- Output no. 1 (max 15A, 180W at 12V) for extra light / LED ramp
- Output no. 2 (max 5A, 60W at 12V) for position light / reversing light (this output is optional to use)
You can easily set these outputs yourself using the XBB Configurator app.
You do not have to connect to the car's electrical system, but the extra light signal goes between the transmitter unit and the relay via Bluetooth. The XBB Cupra Formentor auxiliary light connector makes it very easy to install auxiliary lights.
